Blue Buffalo Dry Food for Puppies, Chicken and Rice Recipe, 15-Pound Bag

Though flea free, our 4lb Chihuahua was always scratching. After trying all the special shampoos and creams, our vet recommended a change of diet and suggested Blue Buffalo.

We'd switched to the "super premium" dog foods before (Canidae, Innova, Orijen), all of which he either would not eat or gave him the runs far longer the usual "adjustment" period.

Nearly a year later, he is thriving on Blue Buffalo. The ingredients are wonderful and wholesome, he actually gets excited at meal time, his coat is soft and shiny and his skin has stopped itching.

I'd like to note that those other brands weren't bad at all, they just weren't right for our little guy. Dogs are as particular and different as people, and because your Fido doesn't do well on Brand X doesn't make it a bad food, it just means you haven't found the right one for him. Just make sure the ingredients are good and wholesome, balanced and preferably as natural as possible.

Our lab/heeler mix loves Blue Buffalo. The shelter we got her from had her on Science Diet, which made eliminating difficult for her. We gradually switched her over to Blue Buffalo, and she has been a much healthier, happier pup. Amazon has a good deal - with Prime shipping and no tax, this is a bargain compared with PetCo/Petsmart prices!

After checking out ALL the foods available for dogs - ingredients, analysis, price - and reading recomendations from vets and breeders, I came to the conclusion that this is the ONLY healthy dog food available. I am also delighted to find that my dog LOVES it. It is worth the money to know I am NOT feeding my dog garbage that will lead to illness and a shortened life in the future.
