When these bowls arrived, and they smelled like rubber - it was pretty bad. (Totally not the seller's fault, but the manufacturers.) So I had to give them a few soaks and scrubs before I actually used them because my pets are very sensitive to smells.
As promised, the bowls don't slip on the floor, but I wish they were more bottom heavy because they still tip over easily.
On the plus side, this size is indeed perfect for a cat: it is shallow and wide enough where it doesn't bother their whiskers.
Great tough product,

You throw it in the dishwasher. It lasts and lasts: the rubber bottom hasn't come off yet. Great tough thing to have around if you have multiple pets. I have a whole stack of them. Some people even say it's broad enough so that it won't hurt your cat's whiskers when he bends down to eat. I'm not sure if that's really important, but that's another "selling point".

THese are the perfect size for cats, they have been through the dishwasher hundreds of times and still look good. With stainless steel I don't have to worry about lead in the glaze as with ceramic or bacterial growth like with plastic. The non skid base is kind to wood floors, and the cats like to eat from a more stable surface. The depth is perfect, not too deep that they bend cats' whiskers.
