I switched my oldest Miniature Schnauzers over to Innova Low Fat Adult Formula Dry Dog Food about 2.5 years ago. Previously all of my dogs were being fed on Innova's Evo Chicken Formula however my oldest developed pancreatitis which is a condition where the pancreas becomes inflamed. She spent a week at the vet's office and I was told that she will need to be placed on a very low fat diet.I've heard that older, female Miniature Schnauzers are the most prone to developing pancreatitis than any other breed of dogs. My vet prescribed Science Diet's W/D which is a very low fat food used to help dog's lose weight. However I couldn't stand the fact that the first ingredients listed for Science Diet's W/D is Corn meal, peanut hulls 26.0% (a source of fiber), and then chicken by-product meal, chicken liver flavor.
