She is a siamese mix that has always been overweight no matter what or how much "diet" food she ate. Once I switched to grain free foods, she not only lost weight & looked healthier, but acted half her age. Sadly, in the last year she eventually developed pancreatitis along with a sensitivity to chicken & fish. My vet recommended the rabbit version of the Rx science diet, but I did not want her going back on grains (nor do I like Science Diet in general for nutrition unless absolutely necessary), since she was otherwise super healthy. After the vets compared the ingredients to the rabbit formula by nature's variety, they were more than happy to approve it and also the lamb version. She really loves the rabbit most & particularly likes that this one has the juice separated from the meat. I have no idea why, she drinks plenty of water already. Most all in grocery stores are, and even the cat treats have it. So this seems to be the only kind he will eat in canned variety. He really prefers dry food and I use the dry Nature's Instinct also for him. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Nature's Variety Canned Cat Food, Feline Instinct Rabbit Diet (Pack of 24 5.5 Ounce Cans) (Grocery) One of my kittens (7 month) have a sensitive digestive system and I looked and tried several different types of wet food. Initially, they were on EVO turkey and chicken. They liked but perhaps it was too rich and they had trouble digesting it. Next was Wellness kitten recipe - not their favorite and quickly they turned their nose up. Weruva - they love it but because of its low calorie (less than 90 Kcal per 5.5 ounce can) it is not perfect as a regular meal. I understand it is low calorie because of very low fat content but cats and kittens do need protein and fat. Maybe it is recommended for those cats that need to lose weight.
Then I came across nature's variety instinct. It was a big hit. They liked it and no digestive issues. My cats' favorites are rabbit and venison so far. |
