This review is for Pro Plan Selects Turkey and Barley dry adult dog food. For anyone interested in feeding this food I can tell you the dogs adore the taste and devour every morsel every feeding. We have a picky spaniel mix who has changed her ways about eating since feeding this food and no longer carries pieces of kibble around the house to hide. The main ingredients in order on the bag are turkey, brewers rice, barley and chicken meal; healthy ingredients that are digested well by our dogs. Fish oil, sweet potatoes, carrots and dried tomatoes are also included in the ingredient list. Since the food is calorie dense I actually feed 1/2 cup less then what is suggested on the bag. The output in the yard is small and firm which is very desirable for our condo life and coats are silky and shiny. So, the bottom line is good ingredients and good results=a darned good dog food. Animal fat- when its not stated what animal it comes from, avoid, it could be anything, including roadkill and euthanized shelter animals) Menadione (vit K)- banned from human consumption due to linked liver toxicity. Last thing to mention, even though turkey is the first ingredient,...Read more |
